REALLY good mail

I had to wait until after 1:00 to post this, because I don't want to spoil the surprise for Anisa! (She checks my blog from work at lunchtime.) She doesn't know it yet, but her REALLY Good Mail will be waiting for her when she gets home from work tonight! *grin*

As much as I love all of you, I'm particularly glad Anisa won my birthday drawing because *blush* I FORGOT HER BIRTHDAY THIS YEAR. I know, I know, the horrors! I STILL feel awful about it. Since I know Anisa well, I know what kind of stuff she likes. (We met nearly 20 years ago when we were dorm mates in college!) It was easy to find goodies for her REALLY Good Mail. Wanna see?

* Bath and Body Works "Moonligh Path" goodies - Anisa's favorite fragrance AND favorite color (lavender)

* Garden gloves - she loves working in her yard

* Mini "Post Its" - they're cute... and she works in an office!

* Photo fridge magnets - she likes to have photos of friends and family in her home (I thought it might be a bit presumptuous to put pictures of my own 3 adorable kids in the magnets, even though I know she loves my kids dearly!)

* Note cards - she likes to keep in touch with friends and family

* Chocolate - she LOVES chocolate!

* Bunny pedicure toe separators - they were so stinkin' cute I couldn't resist them -- I also bought some for Summer

* Floral orchid tote bag - This came free with any Bath and Body Works purchase. I got a black tote bag for my birthday, so Anisa gets this one. I can say with certainty that Anisa LOVES free stuff. *laugh*

I had fun finding things I knew Anisa would particularly enjoy. I had to stop at some point, otherwise I'd have spent $100. ;o)

I love you, Ya-Ya! Thanks for being my buddy. You're an encourager, confidante, spiritual advisor, and just plain FUN to be with! Hugs and MWAH!

quick update

I don't like to blog without posting pictures, so here ya go. Erich took this one of Cosmo the other night. It looks like he's laughing (because he just whacked Luna in the side of the head, causing her to fall backwards off the couch), but he's actually mid-yawn. :o)

Thanks, everyone, for the prayers and well-wishes and Good Mail (Hilary!). Lily slept in our room again last night, but I think she'll be OK to sleep in her room tonight. She was so tired, I put her in bed at 7:30 last night. Would you believe she woke up at 8:30 this morning?! I'd say she needed some good sleep! Thank you, Lord!

Erich's parents are on their way to spend a few days with us. We're hosting Thanksgiving on Saturday for Erich's side of the family, and his folks offered to come up 2 days early to help with cleaning and cooking. (I know, you're all jealous of my wonderful in-laws! Ha! Too bad! They're MINE!!)

I'm not sure when I'll have another chance to blog, since the next several days will be a whirlwind of cooking, cleaning, and Zerbsts. I'll post pictures of our Thanksgiving Dinner, though!

On Sunday, we'll all be heading to my mom's to celebrate my sister's and Lily's birthdays. On Monday, Erich took the day off and we're having Lily's little (only a few kids) princess/knight party. Lots of picture opportunities!

Oh! I can't believe I almost forgot! Erich and I ordered a camera as our Christmas gift to each other this year! I'll let you know more about it when I can.

good mail

Today I got Good Mail (as opposed to junk mail and bills)!

I have to admit I left the groceries in the van (with the back door wide open), neglected the new kitten, told Lily she could wait 3 minutes for me to start lunch, and ignored the blinking message light on our answering machine. I was so excited to open my first Good Mail!

What is Good Mail? It's a group of people who have signed up on a mailing list to send and receive Good Mail!

Why sign up? For the fun of it! (And because everyone loves to get little surprises in the mail!)

Who can join? ANYONE! You can choose to receive from and send to people you know, or make new friends.

What can you send? Anything! You could send a card, seasonal fun stuff, sweets... You name it!

I've already been keeping my eyes peeled for goodies to send to an unsuspecting "someone" on our Good Mail mailing list. I had my socks blessed off today, and I can't wait to send off my first Good Mail!
